About this trip

The All-American Chorus will be a featured choir for the D-Day events in the Normandy region. As musical ambassadors to France, the All-American chorus will perform ceremonial music for the officially recognized commemoration and wreath laying ceremonies at the Brittany and Normandy American Cemeteries and Memorials. In the historic village of Sainte-Mère-Église the band will perform in the International Salute to Liberation and march in the the D-Day Memorial Parade.

Congratulations on being selected for the 2025 All-American Chorus! We are very excited to have you in the ensemble and look forward to sharing this adventure with you. We can’t wait for you to experience our National Capital Region, Paris and Normandy with your fellow All-Americans. This year’s event will be extra special, as it is the 80th anniversary of the End of WWII.

Arrival into Washington DC

- Arrival into Washington, DC (transportation to/from DC will be the responsibility of each individual choir member – must arrive before 5:00 PM)

- Check into the hotel – Dulles Airport Marriott or similar

- Dinner provided at the hotel with an orientation and meet and greet

- Evening rehearsal

- Overnight at the hotel

Monday, June 2

Rehearsal and Washington DC Touring

- 7:00 Breakfast provided at the hotel

- 9:00-2:00 Rehearsal day at the hotel – lunch and snacks provided

- 3:00 Depart for Washington DC – Dinner stop en route (dinner provided)

- Evening tour of DC’s monuments and memorials

- 10:00 Return to the hotel for overnight

Performance in DC and Depart for Paris

- 7:00 Breakfast provided at the hotel

- 8:00 Pack and load the buses

- 9:00 Depart for DC

- 10:30 Performance by the All-American Chorus at the WWII Memorial

- Visit to Arlington National Cemetery

- 2:00 Depart for the Airport

- 6:00 Depart on your overnight flight to France (flights TBD) – Be sure to sleep on the plane!

Arrival into France and Transfer to Normandy

- Arrival in Paris, Charles De Gaulle Airport. Retrieve your luggage, clear customs. Meet your full-time tour managers outside of Customs 

- Depart for Normandy (approximately 3-hour drive). You will make a lunch stop en route. Lunch (on own)

- Afternoon to visit the D-Day 360 Museum in Arromanches. It was on the beach of Arromanches that, during the Invasion of Normandy immediately after D-Day, the Allies established an artificial temporary harbor to allow the unloading of heavy equipment without waiting for the conquest of deep-water ports such as Le Havre or Cherbourg

- Depart for the hotel for check in and overnight – Dinner provided at your hotel

D-Day Memorial Ceremony - Brittany & Mont Saint-Michel

- European style breakfast provided at the hotel

- Depart for a visit to the American Cemetery at Brittany and participate in the tribute ceremony. The American Cemetery in Brittany contains the remains of 4,409 of our war dead, most of whom lost their lives in the Normandy and Brittany Campaigns of 1944. 

- Wreath Laying and Commemoration Ceremony 

- Transfer to Mont St. Michel for a tour of this one-of-a-kind medieval town and fortress abbey 

- Lunch on own

- Depart for the hotel for overnight

- Group dinner provided at the hotel

Omaha Beach Ceremony

- European style breakfast provided at the hotel

- Depart for a visit to Pointe du Hoc. During the American assault of Omaha and Utah beaches on June 6, 1944, these U.S. Army Rangers scaled the 100-foot cliffs and seized the German artillery pieces that could have fired on the American landing troops at Omaha and Utah beaches. At a high cost of life, they successfully defended against determined German counterattacks.

- Transfer to the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach tribute ceremony. Tour the Cemetery and Visitors Center. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France is located on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 and the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II. The cemetery site contains the graves of 9,387 of our military dead, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. 

- Wreath Laying and Commemoration Ceremony 

- Dinner and evening in Bayeux

- Return to your hotel for overnight

D-Day Memorial Parade

- European style breakfast provided at the hotel 

- Transfer to Utah Beach. The World War II Utah Beach American Memorial commemorates the achievements of U.S. VII Corps forces that landed and fought in the liberation of the Cotentin Peninsula from June 6, 1944 to July 1, 1944

- Transfer to Sainte-Mère-Église the first town liberated by American paratroopers on D-Day, to tour the town and prepare for the D-Day Memorial Parade

- Performance in the town square as part of the Concert de Liberation

- Participate in the D-Day Memorial Parade through the village of Sainte-Mère-Église

- Depart for Paris (approximately 4-hour drive)

- Arrival into Paris – Dinner provided

- Check in and overnight at your Paris area hotel

Sunday, June 8

Day to Explore Paris

- European style breakfast provided at the hotel

- Morning guided tour of the city. Stops to including Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Arch de Triomphe, Opera, and Montmartre, Eiffel Tower

- Lunch on own

- Conclude the tour at Montparnasse Tower Observatory for a beautiful view of Paris

- Evening and dinner provided in Montmartre. Montmartre is primarily known for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on its summit. Many artists had studios or worked in or around Montmartre, including Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Vincent van Gogh. 

- Return to the hotel for overnight

Paris and Feature Performance

- European style breakfast provided at the hotel

- Morning to visit the world-renowned Louvre Museum. Highlights include Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, and the Mona Lisa

- Lunch on own

- Afternoon Performance in Paris at the beautiful la Madeleine Cathedral in Paris

- Dinner provided in Paris

- Final evening to enjoy an audio tour on board a bateau on the Seine River 

- Return to your hotel for overnight
